The studio is within walking distance to Hobart town centre. The myrtle kitchenette has two hot plates and an oven, a fridge and all utensils that you will need for your stay. Breakfast provisions are re-stocked daily and you will be spoiled with home-made cookies. We gladly cater for different dietary needs. Exposed ceiling beams and a wood stove adds charm to this property. We can best let a selection of comments from our guest book say a little about the holiday experience 'Behind the Green Door'.   Tasmania is a very special part of Australia, with its pristine and superb natural environment - a landscape that is at times redolent of the gentle English countryside and at others wild and distinctly Australian; it has a pervasive sense of history, along with a growing reputation for artisan wines and produce and of course, it offers a wonderful contrast to mainland holidays.   Abel Tasman first discovered it back in 1642, and named it Van Diemen's Land. Hobart is the second oldest city in Australia after Sydney (Launceston is the third, so Tasmania really does have something of a monopoly when it come to history) and it is perfectly located to make the most of all the treasures this small island state has to offer.   It lies on the Derwent River, and the river and... Review - Pendragon Hall
By Justin Wastnage

120 Goulburn Street West Hobart This converted church is distinctive in style and the musical welcome you receive from the owners – along with the amazing interior – really sets this property apart. Overall rating?    Excellent What makes Pendragon Hall different? It is very rare to be able to sleep inside a genuine old church.  Waking up to the sunlight streaming through the enormous stained glass windows was magical and the 25m high ceilings give a sense of space you would never have experienced before.    Accommodation overview The church is one large hall with two double four-poster beds – complete with curtains. The king-size master bed is at one end of the nave (and is screened) and it is lit by a magnificent four-panel ... Read more

Top Five Accessible Travel Destinations
By Bruce Mumford

When you’re disabled it’s a lot easier - and cheaper - to stay at home. But after our family came home from a trip away, I realised the memories would be there with our boys for the rest of their lives.  It’s certainly not easy (when you’re disabled what is?) but it is worth it. My favourite Australian  destinations are: 1. Darling Harbour, Sydney I never visited Darling Harbour when growing up in Sydney.  But our family came up here and stayed 3 nights last year and had a wonderful time!  It was great being a tourist in what was once my own backyard.  After seeing a fair bit of overseas, I still think Sydney stacks up pretty well. The terrific thing about Darling Harbour is that it’s so much like Tasmania; a lot to do in such a sm... Read more

By Jane Hamilton

Old world charm – with all the mod cons. This lovely B&B has a wonderful view of Sandy Bay, a gorgeous garden and is only 5 minutes from Hobart, making it the perfect base for an exploration of all the city has to offer. Overall rating?  Outstanding What makes Twenty Red Chapel different? The lovely tranquil setting in a pretty suburban location on top of a hill and the welcoming and helpful hosts made this a very enjoyable place to stay, with all the comforts of home and none of the responsibilities.  Could easily have stayed longer! Accommodation overview This is a beautiful Edwardian house and the guest wing comprises two rooms, one with a double bed and the other with two single beds.  Both are warm and welcoming and have an old world charm that adds...
