Overall rating?       Excellent What makes The Langham different? The location in the heart of Melbourne could not be better, and the first impression on arrival as the doors slide open into the opulent lobby, dominated by a grand chandelier, is an amazing start to a stay in this luxury hotel. Accommodation overview We stayed in a Classic Room with two double beds, but the other options include a River Room, Corner Deluxe Guestroom, Langham Hotel Club Guestrooms, Langham Hotel Suites and the Presidential Suite. The apartment complex was once The British Hotel (c 1905) and is laden with character.  It  is so close to the CBD, and gives you the chance to shop and cook, and not spend a lot of money eating out all the time.  It has a friendly feeling and is exceptionally clean.   Accommodation overview There are 16 studio and one bedroom apartments, all with modern furnishings and great kitchens.  Mine was a studio, with a bathroom, kitchenette and living area.   Facilities overview Trams stop at the front door, and it is a short walk to shops and banks.  The servic... Hume Villa Motor Inn, 1324 Hume Highway, Fawkner, Melbourne, Victoria Overview The Hume Villa Motor Inn an unassuming motel style accommodation in Melbourne’s north. Part of the Golden Chain group, the motor inn offers a range of motel room and self-contained family and spa rooms. A new wing was built just three years ago and many of the existing rooms have been refurbished. Courtesy transport to or from the airport and location on the Hume Highway make this an easy and comfortable choice. Magic Melbourne Collins Mark Apartments, 325 Collins Street, Melbourne, Victoria Overview Collins Mark Apartments are well located in a wonderful lively area of central Melbourne. The apartments are modern, stylish and fully self-contained, great for an extended business trip or intercity getaway. I really felt immersed in the lively Melbourne atmosphere but at the same time able to retreat to my quiet and stylish rooms. The 1 bedroom unit had plenty of space for me to hold an informal meeting with some colleagues before dinner. I only stayed for 2 nights but a much longer stay would have been very comfortable.
