Lakeside reflections by day, moonlight by night
By Veronica Royle

Our tree-lined limestone drive takes you from the gravel road towards the Sandy Lake Farm B&B. Take the time to grab your camera to take some special shots as the sun colours the dappled tree bark. Or perhaps catch the farm scene of grazing black and white belted Galloway cattle and calves or the Dorper sheep and baby lambs. A little further to go and you'll find the house sitting on the rise amongst rolling green lawns, roses and gum trees. Reg and Veronica look forward to your arrival and have your choice of rooms ready. If you just want peace and quiet, this is ideal but if you would like some entertainment or to have a go at karoake just mention it to Reg and he'll get you a song or two to try. Sunset and BYO drinks on the patio... bring out the camera again and capture the set... Read more

Guilderton, where the river meets the sea.
By thea wale

A day at Moore River Cottage... Woken by the birds going about their morning business, my family start their day on the front verandah, sipping a warm drink and watching the waves roll in, dreaming of what to do today. Kayaking, picnic and the sandhills are the favourite option for this day and t the kayaks are included in the tariff. Breakfast done, picnic packed and down to the river we go, the whole family, and with a slight breeze on our backs, we paddle to the sandhills, 'the desert' as they are affectionately called by the locals. Sandboard under arm up we climb to the top, then slide down, having a competion to see who can get to the water and cross the river, then back up to the top again. While the teenagers are sandboarding the little ones are rolling down, over and over and... Read more

Destination wedding etiquette
By Kylie Jane Degeling

If the idea of running along the beach barefoot with your wedding gown streaming behind you sounds more tempting than walking down the aisle of a church or registry for your big day, you’re not alone. More and more couples are opting to seek out exciting destinations for their ceremonies rather than have their weddings closer to home. Australia is one of the most spectacular and diverse countries in the world to hold a destination wedding. You could choose to tie the knot on top of a hill in the Snowy Mountains.
