David Mutch: From Nowhere to Nowhere
Contact Phone:

Venue:
30 Guildford Lane, Level 1 Melbourne Victoria
Dates:
From Sat 31 Aug 13 To Sat 28 Sep 13
David Mutch's upcoming exhibition "From Nowhere to Nowhere" at Beam Contemporary considers a sense of displacement born from our contemporary urban experience.
Mutch's works examines our homogenised popular culture that strives for authenticity yet falls short, and suggests a loss of personal identity and a feeling of being an anonymous body in an impersonal urban environment.
Through a series of photographs, video and sculptural installation, Mutch proposes we are disassociated with ourselves in amongst the mental clutter of modern visual culture, and dependence on technology.
Exhibition opening Saturday 31 August 4 - 6pm. www.beamcontemporary.com.au
