What makes Crowne Plaza Canberra different?
The hotel has a wonderful location between Civic and tranquil Glebe Park, which was dressed in beautiful autumn leaves for our stay.
Accommodation overview
Our spacious room had a wonderful view of the park, an ensuite and king-size bed. There was plenty of room for a portacot for our grandson, who was travelling with us. The rooms are modern and attractive, fitted with the usual hotel accessories such as in-room movies, mini bar and desk.
Facilities overview
The hotel offers 24-hour room service, as well as an in-house restaurant. There is a gym and fitness centre, sauna outdoor pool, and all the usual conference and business centre facilities.
Location
In the centre of Canberra, it is ideally located for business and pleasure. We travelled by car from Sydney, using the M5, then the Hume Highway and finally the Federal Highway into Canberra. It was about a three hour drive.
Suitable for children? Yes, and the staff were really helpful and happy to assist us with anything we needed for our grandson.
Suitable for pets? No
Wheelchair access? Yes, there are wheelchair-friendly rooms available, lift access and other disabled facilities. Check for your requirements.
Perfect for?
This hotel has something for everyone and whether you are in Canberra on business or pleasure, it has all the facilities you could want, including genuinely friendly service.
Why stay longer?
There is so much to see and do in Canberra; we loved visiting the National Zoo, Cockington Green and the Australian War Memorial. After a day out and about with a toddler, it was great to come back to our spacious room overlooking the park and wind down by watching the in-house movies. There is so much to see and do that you couldn’t possibly fit it into a weekend, so a longer stay or a return trip is on the cards.
Why you wouldn’t stay longer?
Can’t think of any reason you would want to leave the Crowne Plaza, or Canberra!
Pricing
We paid $235 for our King Premium room, but rates vary, so check the Crowne Plaza Canberra listing for details.
