  • Nicholls B&B by night
  • Queen-size bed and single plus trundle

Canberra is Australia’s capital and a planned city that offers a wonderful central lake, amazing exhibits that cover almost every topic you can think of and stunning parks and gardens to delight the senses. It is only a few hours drive from Sydney, a couple of hours away from the snowfields and has increasingly become a place of gourmet food purveyors and boutique wineries.

It is a great place to take the kids for a break and many of the wonderful attractions offer free admission, making it a smart choice in these budget-conscious times.

If you are looking for a great place to stay while you explore all Canberra has to offer, then Nicholls B&B is for you. This self-contained ground floor unit sleeps up to four, with a queen-size bed and single bed with trundle, and has the convenience of ensuite facilities.  It is thoughtfully appointed, with underfloor heating for those chilly Canberra mornings, fans for the warmer months and basic cooking facilities such as fridge, microwave and toaster are provided, along with provisions for a continental breakfast.  All linen, towels and toiletries are provided.

The unit has access to BBQ facilities; TV and DVD player and some DVDs are supplied, as well as books and board games.  There is a reserve at the rear of the house, with a playground for children and lovely walks.

Nicholls B&B is a family-run concern and the owners do their best to ensure that your stay in Canberra is comfortable and enjoyable.  They are knowledgeable about all the activities and attractions and very proud of the holiday experience that Canberra – and their B&B – offers.

Just a stroll away is Gold Creek Village, the Gold Creek Country Club golf course, Federation Square and the National Dinosaur Museum.  Cockington Green is a popular and fascinating miniature village set in glorious gardens, there is a walk-in aviary, where the birds can perch on your shoulders and the Australian Reptile Centre is also part of the village.

Take time out from wandering around the many attractions to enjoy a coffee or meal in one of the many cafes and restaurants or the child-friendly pub, or enjoy shopping for gifts, homewares, gourmet foods and more.

Canberra CBD is a short drive away, as are all the well-known attractions such as Parliament House (both old and new), and the Australian War Memorial with its many displays and dioramas and Wall of Remembrance, The National Museum of Australia has pride of place on Lake Burley Griffin and features many wonderful displays and galleries, both temporary and permanent.

Questacon, with its interactive science and technology displays, is a fascinating place for both kids and grown ups, and you can see how we train our elite athletes at the Australian Institute of Sport.  Get out and about and enjoy the beautiful natural attractions at Tidbinbilla Nature Reserve or picnic among the emus at the National Zoo and Aquarium.

And at the end of a day filled with the many sights and delights of Canberra, return to Nicholls B&B and relax in comfort while you plan your activities for the next day.
