What makes Lurline House different?
The federation-style house is 99 years old and has that indefinable sense of history and place that makes it feel completely at home in the Blue Mountains. The rooms are well appointed and very comfortable.
Accommodation overview
There are 7 bedrooms, all with ensuites and five of those rooms are spacious spa rooms. All the rooms have four-poster beds with canopies and the furniture is exactly right for a property that is nearly 100 years old. Our room was not a spa room, and while not large, it was extremely comfortable and perfect for our requirements.
Facilities overview
Aside from the bedrooms, there is a charming breakfast room, where a wonderful English breakfast (included in the tariff) is served, as well as two lovely lounge areas, perfect for relaxing with a book and afternoon tea.
Location
Lurline House is an easy stroll to Katoomba town centre and only a few minutes walk away from the iconic Three Sisters lookout. Katoomba is about 1.5 hours drive from Sydney, but we took the train, which is an easy and enjoyable trip – made even easier with the pick up and drop off service offered by the host.

This is the perfect base from which to explore the Blue Mountains and all they have to offer: cafes, restaurants, shops, galleries, bushwalks, and of course, those sublime views.
Why stay longer?
Lurline House is a wonderful place to stay, you feel welcome from the outset and Peter is a charming and helpful host who ensures that your stay provides everything you need. The Blue Mountains is full of treasures and our visit was too brief to see them all.
Why you wouldn’t stay longer?
Work or family commitments called you back, or you were hankering for bright lights and nightclubs.
