Review - Ambleside

Cosy up in the Blue Mountains

Ambleside, Malvern Rd, Leura, Blue Mountains, NSW

Ambleside is a delightful little cottage set amongst a well groomed and sunny garden in Leura. Arriving at the cottage with a wood fire already set and burning and information packs aplenty, not to mention the host’s great local briefing, we felt it was just what we needed for our weekend getaway in the Blue Mountains.

Within close proximity to a variety of bushwalks, we chose to walk from the Solitary Restaurant to Echo Point along the clifftops and return along the Dardanelles pass, a 3 hour walk all in all. The sun was still on the garden when we returned, but we chose pre-dinner drinks inside in front of the log fire. A great place to curl up with a book, for a game of cards or a chat.

Overall rating: Excellent, with Outstanding cleanliness.

What makes Ambleside different?
Affordable, cosy, comfortable and warm. Perfect for an inexpensive getaway. The log fire, hot shower and electric blankets make this a perfect Blue Mountains getaway.

Accommodation overview
The property is a self contained cottage with two bedrooms. A large queen room and second room with two singles. Linen and towels are included and the beds have individual temperature controlled electric blankets, to make your bed toasty before you put your toes in.

Facilities Overview
The property has a large, private rear garden with barbeque and outdoor setting. The well-groomed front garden assures privacy. The property has everything you could want for a weekender, cosy lounge area, dining room and kitchen, laundry, large bathroom and separate toilet.

A 10 minute walk would take you to Leura village, or take your time on a multitude of local bushwalks. Proximity to bushwalking and Blue Mountains village shopping make this the ideal location.

Leura is around one and a half hours from Sydney along the M4 up along the Great Western Highway, or just past Katoomba if you’re coming in via Lithgow to the West.

If you’re heading from Sydney, stop at Glenbrook Visitor Information Centre on the left around 2km from the end of the freeway for walking maps and great local information, or just wait until you arrive as they have just about every bit of information you could need in the information books in the cottage.

Perfect for
Couples, a family or small group of friends to get away and explore the outdoors. Great weekend and mid-week deals.

From $85 per couple per night
