This cottage is picturesque, with beautiful gardens and everything you want to make your stay relaxing and comfortable.  It is tastefully furnished and exudes charm.

Overall rating? Excellent

What makes Matilda’s of Leura different?
The weatherboard cottage looks ‘old world’ but was in fact designed to fit into the established gardens and look as though it has been there for many years.  However, this also means that the building has all the modern conveniences you could wish for in holiday accommodation.

Accommodation overview
There are three bedrooms, the spacious loft has its own bathroom and a queen-size bed, there is another bedroom with a queen-size bed and the third bedroom has two singles.  This flexible configuration makes Matilda’s perfect for a variety of holiday needs.

Facilities overview
The loft bedroom has a lounge/sitting area, as well as an ensuite with a two-person spa.  The Federation-style bathroom downstairs has an antique claw-foot bath and a corner shower, and the heated towel rails ensure the towels are warm and fluffy, whatever the weather outside.

The kitchen is fully equipped and has everything necessary to whip up gourmet meals, if the many fine restaurants in the area don’t tempt you. The owners have thought of your every comfort, including reverse cycle air-conditioning, convection heaters, fans and a gas log fire, which – along with the woollen doonas – will ensure you stay snug on even the chilliest night in the mountains.  The cottage also has a laundry and BBQ, and a lovely outdoor setting on the balcony overlooking the tranquil gardens.

Leura is in the heart of the Blue Mountains, only 1.5 hours from Sydney and just over an hour from Bathurst.  Matilda’s is a short walk from the heart of Leura village.

Suitable for children? Yes, but best for over 5s, due to the loft stairs.

Suitable for pets?       No

Wheelchair access?   No

Perfect for?
Couples looking for some time together, families or extended families.

Why stay longer?
The bush setting is so peaceful and there is such a choice of great shopping and restaurants, as well as the delights of the World Heritage listed Blue Mountains, that you could easily spend a week and return to your everyday life refreshed and relaxed.

Why you wouldn’t stay longer?
I can’t think of any reason you would want to leave this haven, other than the demands of the real world calling you back.

$220-340 per two people per night.  Check the listing for details.
