Sometimes you want a getaway that gets away from the real world altogether… one where you spend time with your loved ones or close friends… one where your little darlings aren’t in the picture… one where you can pamper yourself in peace and tranquillity - well, Woollybush Guest House is the answer!

Nestled in 3 acres of lawns, gardens and unspoiled bush and just an hour away from Perth on the Coral Coast, Woollybush is an ‘adults only’ retreat that offers you the chance to recharge, rejuvenate and re-connect. Perfect for a weekend getaway, a mid-week break away from the everyday or longer stays, the wonderful hosts at Woollybush know how to pamper you and help you to take a break.

This is a remarkable B&B – the owners like to say that you will arrive as a guest and leave as a friend, and yet you still have all the privacy you need. There are three bedrooms, two with queen-size beds and one with twin beds. They all have reverse-cycle air-conditioning and overhead fans; quality linen and all towels (including beach towels for the spa) are provided.

In the interests of privacy, only two rooms are booked out at any one time, unless a group booking is made for the entire property so friends can enjoy time away together. A group booking is possible for 4 couples, as there is a sofa bed in the guest lounge. Enjoy the pool, heated spa, BBQ area, fridge, LCD TV/DVD, with a good selection of DVDs, as well as books, magazines and games… everything you need for a relaxed stay. The bathroom is well appointed, with a shower, bath and quality toiletries – even a hairdryer, for those who forget to bring their own.

Breakfast is a highlight at Woollybush Guest House, comprising tea and plunger coffee, juice, a fruit platter and a selection of preserves and cereals, as well as yoghurt. Then choose from the cooked breakfast, with bacon, sausages, eggs, tomatoes and mushrooms or a tasty savoury dish, followed by a sweet treat. To top it all off, you choose when it suits you to enjoy this repast.

There are a variety of eateries to choose from for dinner, however they are a 20-minute drive away, so you can always choose to eat in, and enjoy two courses and a glass of wine.

Woollybush has a number of packages available, but I am very tempted by the “Ladies’ Pamper Package”, designed for 2-4 women and offering a wonderful break from the stresses of deadlines and family commitments. All meals are included: the brilliant breakfast, lunch, pre-dinner drinks and afternoon tea/high tea or welcome drinks on arrival.  Enjoy the gift pack of luxury organic toiletries and swaddle yourself in the fluffy robe. Also included: unlimited hot and cold drinks, hot chocolate at bedtime and plenty of nibblies. There is early check-in/late check-out and those who really push the boat out and opt for the Deluxe package will also enjoy a beauty treatment and psychic consultation.

Chloe the joey  (rescued by the owners recently after her mother was killed by a car) is a big hit with guests and loves a cuddle. Venture down the bush path and you may bump into the other semi- resident kangaroos. You will certainly enjoy the abundant birdlife and the delightful gardens. If you can tear yourself away from the peace and pampering at Woollybush, you will find there are plenty of activities in the Coral Coast region, including the nearby wineries, olive farms and West Coast Honey. Take a cruise on the Moore River, or if you are feeling energetic, hire a canoe and make your own way. Play golf or bowls or try your luck and dangle a line.

There are plenty of walking tracks and the sand dunes are perfect for some 4WD action. The famous ‘Pinnacles’ are just two hours away, and the Gravity Centre and Observatory are even closer – just 20 minutes away. There is so much to see and do, that you will be thrilled to return to the hospitality of Woollybush Guest House and just relax, while you plan how much – or how little – you are going to do the next day.
