Smart Ass
  • Durable coated cards

This is a travel version of the popular Smart Ass board game and is perfect for taking on car trips to keep the kids happy. It comes in a colourful and durable tin and has 200 cards, split between the four categories… Who am I, What am I, Where am I and Smart Ass.

We took the game on a teambuilding weekend and it was the perfect way to relax after dinner on the first night and get everyone talking and laughing. The beauty of this version is the compact size and as there is no game board, you don’t even need a table to play.

The winner is the first person to collect 4 cards. It is easy to play – one person reads out the questions (perfect for kids, who probably won’t know the majority of the answers) and the other members of the group call out their answer. If you are wrong, you are eliminated from that round. If you are right, you collect the card.

The questions become easier as the clues go on, meaning that virtually every round has a winner. With 200 cards, this game is good for a several hours or a couple of nights… however it would be great if you could purchase supplementary questions to extend the life of the game.

As there are no small pieces, the game is suitable for those with impaired mobility, although people with vision impairment may find the type on the cards too small to read. However, all you need is one person to read, so the game is still suitable for those with vision difficulties.

We loved Smart Ass – and it is compact, easy to pack and suitable for players 12 and over. An outstanding addition to your Christmas stocking this year, at only $24.95. For more information go to smartass.com.au

About the reviewer
Penny Parsons is CEO for TakeABreak.com.au Penny loves to travel and it was this that led to the idea of TakeABreak.com.au. With many travellers looking for more than just a standard hotel experience, her objective was to provide them with access to as many different accommodation types as possible.

When searching for boutique accommodation such as B&Bs or holiday homes she also found the only option was calling local real estate agents or accessing local newspapers and information centres. This process was not only time consuming but sometimes yielded no results at all. She felt there needed to be a more comprehensive yet easier, streamlined and convenient search option. So in 2003, with 300 properties, the seed for Take A Break was sown.
