Farm Stay - Newry Park Cottage
  • Old-style transport!

Newry Park Cottage is halfway between Burnie and Stanley yet only 20 kms off the highway on the edge of the Tarkine Wilderness area and within easy access of Cradle Mountain World Heritage Site.

We offer peace, solitude, bushwalking, fishing, bird watching and a lovely rural farm experience yet we are only 20 minutes from the coast and stunning sandy beaches.

We aim to offer our guests great rural accommodation at a reasonable price, which appeals to families or groups of singles who are on a cost-conscious budget and prefer to be self-catering.

It can be a “stay put” rural experience or used as a base to explore further afield
the North West Coast of Tasmania. We have planted a vegetable and flower garden for the use of visitors.

We have created walk ways over the property so visitors can walk around whole 130 acres and interact with the farm animals and wildlife.

Visitors have the opprotunity to interact with domesticated animals such as Wee Donald the Shetland pony, Spook and Bobbin our goats as well as tame ducks Lady Henrietta, Blue, Sonia, Sylvia and geese Mildred and George, all of which can be hand-fed. This is a very popular activity with both children and adults.

We aim to be different in that we appeal to people who wish to be slightly away from the hustle and bustle of the coastal strip and prefer a more isolated rural setting, but are still within a reasonable drive to Stanley or Cradle Mountain World Heritage Site.

Newry Park Cottage is proud to be shortlisted in the farmstay category of the 2010 TakeABreak Awards. For further information or to make a booking for this property, please Newry Park Cottage on takeabreak.com.au
