Shoalwater Bay Beach House
is a stylish, self-contained four-bedroom, two-bathroom home in the popular beachside region of Rockingham, 50km south of Perth. Just minutes from the spectacular Shoalwater Bay Beach and Marine Park, Penguin Island, cafes, restaurants and shopping centres, the Beach House offers convenient and relaxing short term accommodation for families, friends or corporate travellers.
The Beach House is a spacious 133 square metre home which sleeps up to 8 people in four bedrooms, making it suitable for two small families, extended families of groups of friends to get away together.
The master bedroom opens on to a small private courtyard. It features a comfortable queen-size bed, overhead fan, sea grass privacy screen and ensuite with glass-enclosed shower and separate full-size bath. The second double bedroom has a queen-size bed as well and a semi ensuite bathroom, also with a bath and shower.
There is a single bedroom with a desk and chair. The fourth bedroom features a double bunk bed. And we all know how much kids love bunk beds! There is also a folding bed and portable cot, providing more sleeping options.
All doonas, pillows, linen and towels are provided. Guests only need to bring their own beach towels.
The main living area features a very comfy leather lounge suite, TV and DVD, as well as a dining setting for up to eight people. The fully equipped compact kitchen in this roomy open plan layout is separated by a seventies breakfast bar and Bali-style stools. There is always a small stock of basic pantry items including tea and coffee for guests’ first cuppa, salt, pepper, a few herbs and spices, washing up and clothes washing liquid and (naturally) toilet paper.
The house also has a formal lounge room and dining area and the two outdoor courtyards are enclosed by high brick walls for privacy, child safety and pet-friendliness. The larger family courtyard features a sheltered patio garden area with a BBQ and outdoor setting. It’s well placed for catching cool breezes in summer or the morning sun in winter, perfect for alfresco dining.
Enjoy the heated spa, which easily seats five and is tucked away in its own corner off the private courtyard. Everyone who stays at the Beach House loves the spa!
There’s plenty to do outside too. Known as “Your Aquatic Playground”, the Rockingham area promises a memorable and unique experience for every visitor. Holidaymakers can see the world’s smallest penguins on the recently opened viewing facility on Penguin Island, dive off one of the many neighbouring islands or explore the underwater wrecks (including planes and boats), sail a yacht within the protected bays, get involved in recreational boat and jetty fishing, get adventurous with kite surfing, wind surfing or parasaliling, enjoy the vast stretches of white sandy beaches, take in a leisurely heritage trail, or swim with the wild dolphins which inhabit the local bays.
Shoalwater Bay Beach House is proud to be shortlisted in the 2010 TakeABreak Awards. Check out Shoalwater Bay Beach House on takeabreak.com.au
